The 2010 Formula One season ended with some great rivalries and performances. The year marked the return of the seven time legendary Formula One Champion driver Michael Schumacher. The season was dominated by three teams including
Red Bull racing, Mclaren and Ferrari. The Championship was won by Red Bull Racing and the Driver’s Championship which wasn’t decided until the very last race was won by Sebastian Vettel who became the youngest World Champion this year. Apart from the top runners,
there had been some inspiring performances lower down the order from teams like Force India, Sauber and Renault. Of all the inspiring drivers, Japan’s Kamui Kobayashi from Sauber was the most impressive. The Japanese driver scored 32 of the total 42 points
Sauber scored.
All the teams would be eying the next season to perform well and take a competitive edge over their opponents. Amongst all the teams, Sauber has become the first one to confirm a launce date of their car in 2011. Sauber will launch
the car on the 31st of January, just one day before the first pre-season test at Valencia. The Ferrari powered car will be piloted by Kamui Kobayashi who represented the team in 2010 and with him will be Mexican newcomer Sergio Perez. The Mexican
driver ended up being the runner-up in the GP2 series in 2010.
The car has been designed under the supervision of the Technical Director of the team, James Key. He was at first with Force India but joined Sauber last season. The team Principal, Peter Sauber expects his team to one of the best
and front running in the coming season. Peter Sauber claimed that his team would be in a very strong position in 2011. The team has been moving in the right direction and it would be an exciting season ahead. Peter Sauber also believes that the Technical Director
James Key would play an important role to build a strong car. He believes that Key is the right man for the job and certainly knows how to develop a fast racing car.
The first pre-season test would be conducted in Valencia on the 1st of February, 2011. All the 12 teams would be looking forward to participate in the test and gain data to develop the cars accordingly. After the first
test, two more will follow later in February in Jerez and Barcelona. The pre-season testing would come to an end in early March when the teams participate in Bahrain to gather all the important information.
All the teams would look forward to gain advantage from the pre-season testing. It would depend on how well the teams adapt to the technical regulations and develop their cars accordingly. The season would kick off in the second
week of March in Bahrain where the final pre-season is scheduled to take place. It would be yet another exciting and adventurous season as six World Champions would be looking to compete against each other.
