Sauber driver Sergio Perez: I am very much looking forward to Belgium Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Sergio Perez has said that he is very much looking forward to Belgium Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held on August 28, 2011 at Spa-Francorchamps.
Perez also mentioned that Spa is one of his favourite circuits in Formula 1 sport, as it has high-speed corners and he has already won over there when he was in Formula 3.
The team driver discussed with the media that he is feeling really nice to get back into his C30 car after the 2011 summer break. In addition, he stated that the summer break proved as good for him, as said that he fully recovered from the Monaco accident
during that.
Talking to reporters, Perez said, “After quite a long break when everybody was on holiday, it is nice to get back into the car again and to the race rhythm. I'm very much looking forward to the Belgian Grand Prix. Spa is a very special place. I think we
can pick up again the momentum from before the race in Hungary, and do well there.”
He added, “It is one of my favourite circuits because I love Eau Rouge and the other fast corners. I won in Spa in Formula 3, and also last year in GP2. Personally the break was good for me to fully recover from the Monaco accident.”
After coming back from the break, the youngest driver in Formula 1 is aiming to perform well in the upcoming race weekends of the 2011 season. The 21-year-old further added that Spa is a very special place and that they can score decent points over there
if they take right decisions under difficult situations of the race.
The Sauber driver was unable to perform well in the previous Hungarian race weekend. He started his grand prix from the 10th position on the opening grid and after putting all of his efforts, he came at the 15th place
behind Force India’s Adrian Sutil in the final race classifications.
Let’s see how Perez manages his race at Spa race circuit following his disappointing result in Budapest.
