Sauber driver Sergio Perez aiming to do better in upcoming British Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Sergio Perez is aiming to perform well in the upcoming British Grand Prix which will be held on July 10, 2011 at the Silverstone race circuit.
Perez added that he wants to score decent points for his team and is looking forward to a successful race weekend in Silverstone.
The Mexican said, “Now heading to Hinwil to have some meetings with my team! We will bounce back next race, anyway I'm very pleased to come back it was a very hard weekend for me! But I'm sure Silverstone will be better!!”
The team driver missed both the Monaco and Canadian Grands Prix due to an accident during the qualifying round of the Monaco race weekend.
Perez was back in action at the recently held European Grand Prix, where he finished his race in the 11th spot for the team.
He had a good start in the Valencia Grand Prix, as he completed his Friday Free Practice successfully on the track. He took part in the qualifying round and secured 16th place for the race day.
The 21-year-old driver seemed to be struggling to finish well from the start of the race. He really worked hard and finally finished his race behind the Renault driver Nick Heidfeld.
The Sauber driver was not so happy with his Valencia race results, as he was hoping to score some points for the team.
Apart from that, his teammate Kamui Kobayashi was very slow behind Perez and finished his run at the 16th place.
The team was very disappointed with Kobayashi’s performance in Valencia, as they were expecting him to challenge the top runners after his positive finish in the Canadian Grand Prix.
Kobayashi was also dissatisfied with his European race results, because he made a lot of struggle for his best finish again in the season at Valencia.
The team is planning to introduce some new upgrades for the British Grand Prix, as they believe new parts will provide them better results at Silverstone racetrack. Let’s see how both the drivers manage their race over there.
