Sauber driver Sergio Perez says he is feeling much better and will race in Canada – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Sergio Perez has recently informed his fans through the media that his health is much better than before and he will race in the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix.
After the necessary treatment following the crash during the final qualifying round of the recently held Monaco Grand Prix, he feels in a good shape.
Despite his recovery from the minor injuries that he sustained in an accident at the Monte Carlo street circuit, the team confirmed that Perez will face a medical test before the next grand prix.
The 21-year-old driver said, “On Sunday watching the race from the bed, I realised how much I love what I do! I'm better than ever and more motivated than ever. I have a little bit of pain in my leg and in my neck, but this comes from the muscles and is
nothing to worry about.”
He went on to add, “I'm looking forward to being back in the car soon. I'm pretty sure I will be driving in Montreal. [I will be doing] everything I can to drive in Canada.”
On the other hand, team Sauber said they are very relaxed that their driver has not picked up any major injury. They admitted that no doubt before the crash he was moving in the right direction and performing well for the team.
The Mexican stayed at the hospital for two nights for his further checkups. However, after getting a positive medical report, he was discharged from the hospital on May 30, 2011. After leaving the hospital, Perez says thanked all his fans that were present
at the Monte Carlo street track and the medical staff that helped him in getting out of the car.
The team added that Perez is confident to race in the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, but before that, he will face another medical test after which he can take part in the race.
His teammate Kamui Kobayashi had a good race day in Monaco, as he finished his run in the fifth spot.
After his recovery, Perez is hoping to put up a good show in Canada. Let’s see how he manages his race in Montreal after the crash.
