Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn feels relieved at their new deal – Formula 1 news
Sauber team principal, Monisha Kaltenborn has said that she is feeling quite relieved at their new deal with the three Russian companies which will provide them the necessary funds to overcome their financial issues.
A couple of weeks ago, Monisha expressed that they were going through very tough time because they didn’t have the money to make the essential developments in their car. In addition, there were many speculations that Nico Hulkenberg didn’t receive any money
for the German Grand Prix.
The 42-year-old even requested F1 to help out the smaller teams. However, the chief executive officer of F1, Bernie Ecclestone asserted that he cannot bail out the Hinwil based squad as he has to treat every team equally.
Nevertheless, Sauber successfully secured a new partnership deal with three Russian companies which will surely provide them the required funds to keep running their operations in a profound manner and to continue their development process in order to perform
well in the season ahead.
The Indian has said that she is feeling very much pleased over their new agreements. She also said that they are now positively looking forward to perform well in the approaching races in order to make their mark stronger in this year’s championship fight.
Besides, she stated that they want to stay in F1 for which they are eying to develop long-term relationships with their new investors.
“The very first thing that has already taken place now that we have our contracts in place is that we were very happy and relieved,” Kaltenborn said. “We are now focusing on starting the implementation of this co-operation because it's a very complex and
comprehensive deal.”
“The major part of it is focusing on technology and we know from our previous experience which we had with Petronas in the past that you really have to go in to a lot of detail and you have to set out long-term plans because this is something that is a long-term
co-operation. That's what we're doing right now,” she added.
It will be interesting to see how the Swiss squad performs in this weekend’s race at the Hungaroring.
