Sauber under no pressure over possibility of losing Sergio Perez – Formula 1 news
Sauber CEO Monisha Kaltenborn has said that they are not worried about the possibility of losing any of their drivers in the future.
Sergio Perez of the Swiss team has been reported as a potential replacement of Felipe Massa of Ferrari since he secured an amazing second podium finish in the Malaysian Grand Prix in wet weather conditions. Meanwhile, there have been many speculations that
he may leave his team after this season.
However, Kaltenborn has asserted that they have agreements with their drivers, Perez and Kamui Kobayashi for the whole season and they are not under any kind of pressure of losing either of them.
Moreover, she said that they are very much pleased with the performance of both the drivers in the first eleven grands prix of the current season while he said that they are focussing to perform well in the approaching races.
"We make our driver line-up for whole season, so from that point of view there will be no changes. We are not worried. And we are in middle of season that hopefully will be successful one for us at least all indications point in that direction and our drivers
have to focus solely on this season. Regarding future, we are not under pressure and I am laid back about it," she said.
In addition, she said that they have been trying to make the best out of the given circumstances and expressed that she is very delighted to see the progress which her team has made in the season so far.
Furthermore, she said that both the Mexican and Japanese drivers are capable enough of attaining competitive results. She also said that they are improving their performance with every race.
“I also think that both are behaving well. Of course tempers can sometimes run little wild, but that's because they are young. So the interim report reads 'satisfactory'," she added.
At present, the Hinwil based team is standing at sixth place in the constructors’ championship with 80 points and it will be very interesting to see how the strongest midfield contender performs in the upcoming races.
