Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi: Team motivated for Malaysian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 Sauber team driver Kamui Kobayashi has recently updated the media that after the successful Melbourne race the team is very motivated for their second race of the 2011 season.
He also mentioned that he is very confident for the Sepang race and that he will try his best to set the best pace for his team.
Sauber enjoyed its strong start of 2011 season in Australia. The team driver Sergio Perez put his debut step very surprising into the race and finished in seventh place ahead of his teammate Kobayashi. Both drivers managed to complete 58 laps but due to
some mechanical infringements in their C30 machine, they were disqualified from the season’s first race and ended the event without any supportive points.
For the next race of this season Kobayashi said, “The guaranteed higher temperatures in Malaysia, though, will make a big difference. I especially expect the tyre degradation to be significantly higher there, so this might result in different race strategies.”
He praised the Malaysian circuit and added that he is hopeful for a better race over there as the circuit is well built with a couple of high speed corners, so there will be possibility of more opportunities for overtaking other cars.
Other than Kobayashi, Mexican driver Perez is also optimistic for the second race of the season. After making his excellent debut race in Melbourne, he is looking forward to a successful next Formula 1 race.
He told the media that he is very motivated for his second race and aiming for supportive points for the team. He further added no doubt they have a good package and with its reliability they can keep their Melbourne race consistency and do more attractive
races over the remaining season.
He went on to say,  “Now after I have my debut grand prix weekend behind me I know a lot better what to expect in qualifying and the race, and this gives me even more confidence. It is physically very demanding and also quite technical. Because the circuit
is long it is difficult to get a lap right there.”
The Sepang race will start on April 10, 2011 in Malaysia.
