Sauber’s Sergio Perez expected to take part in Canadian Grand Prix after recovery – Formula 1
Sauber driver Sergio Perez is expected to take part in the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix after recovering from the minor injuries that he sustained in the qualifying round of the Monaco Grand Prix recently.
The team driver left the Princess Grace hospital on May 30, 2011. After leaving the hospital, Perez said that he felt in a good shape after completing his necessary treatment following the violent crash during the Q3 of the Monaco Grand Prix.
He was kept in hospital for two nights under the doctors’ observations. The Mexican also mentioned that he was very thankful to his all fans, viewers and the medical team who were present at the circuit.
The younger driver appreciated his teammate Kamui Kobayashi’s performance in Monte Carlo, as he successfully finished in fifth place for the team.
Kobayashi was the only driver from Sauber who performed for the team in the Monaco GP. However, the team was happy with their driver’s performance.
Perez said, “I feel okay. I have little bit of pain in my leg and in my neck, but this comes from muscles and is nothing to worry about. On Sunday I still felt a bit dizzy but that is all. Thank God I'm healthy and I'm looking forward to being back in the
car soon.”
Keeping in view his medical report, Perez is confident about his health condition. The report makes him sure that he can drive in upcoming Canadian Grand Prix.
He told the reporters that he still remembered the qualifying round and the way he was performing on the grid before the accident.
He said, “For the time being I am missing some memories about what happened after the first impact and the rescue procedures. I don't really know what caused the accident. My race engineer told me there was no problem with the car. I can only guess that
I might have been a bit off-line or braked on a bump.”
The Canadian Grand Prix will take place on June 12, 2011. Let’s see if he manages to participate in the race or not.
