  1. life here is boring absuloty boring ..i dont recommend this place for people range age 18 to 35 .. unless you have connections here then  u'd be living heaven on earth OR if ur american here then the goverment will consider you as a holy person that drops down from heaven. they will make you above the law ofcourse .and double double salary.

if you wanna build your career here by working hard then dont even bother .. no good education nor no good chances

    BUT

if you want to invest money here like george bush then thats a yes.. or u some how knew some god knows prince that will give you connections then YES !

bottom line. Saudi Arabia is heaven only for the royal family, people with connections and people with american citizenships beside those. your screwed

  2. Im a lebanse muslim, i think of two things as saudi arabia: The authorities push reliegon to the limit, and make some people hate islam which is wrong( Forcing a woman to wear a headscarf without telling her why doesnt make the woman like islam, and second of all here in Lebanon all people are educated (94% of the public is educated) while in saudi arabia the number is 60%

  3. life in saudi arabia is just like any other country.. we have malls, restauratns, cafes, bookstores, ministries, you name it. people think we live in a desert with a tent and camel.. that's not true. if you really wanna see how saudi is like.. just go to youtube and search for videos to show u how saudi is.

  4. If you have enough money to live in a luxurious compound and go diving and skiing every weekend, then you are in heaven, I know people that prefer to live in Saudi over going to europe.

If you were not fortunate enough to live this life then you are not gonna enjoy your life here.

  5. Very strict unless you have lots of money.

One of the most repressive Muslim countries on earth.

  6. I am a Pakistani and have lived in Saudi Arabia since 1977. I work in a Senior Management position and being on Yahoo Answers is a hobby I have recently acquired. It is indeed a melting pot of people from all over the world. I have travelled the world and I believe that " Saudi Arabia is heaven on earth". No one bothers you if you do not break laws of the Kingdom. I love the place, people and everything about it. Beauracracy can be difficult so stay away from anything to do with Government. Otherwise Yes, there is life and we are happy with it. We do not nee the Western life here as it is against our Islamic values. We love it.

  7. An American woman, I've lived in Saudi for twenty-one years, and love it.  The country is developing so rapidly that you can see changes from week to week.  I've made wonderful friends from every continent,  Life here is very comfortable and secure.

  8. ......life is simple here.....its also very strict, no alcohol, no drugs, no female driver and women always wear abaya and head dress here......if you're a foreigner, you can hardly adjust to their culture and custom. In time of prayer, all shops are closed so you should go out and wait outside and comes back after prayer time......

  9. It depends on what city you live in. What your lifestyle is like.

If you're Muslim and family oriented then most large cities would be great. ( Saudi is not a small country so villages are not like the cities. )

If you come from a country like Lebanon, whos people are known all over the Middle East (jokes are made about it all over the middle east ) to be the ones that to like to sing, drink, and dress half naked, feeling ichy when theres cloth over your skin.... then maybe you wont like it.

They have different religious backgrounds ( Sunni Muslims represent only one third of the country ), so if thats where you come from and think less clothes means more advanced, then you might not like it because you might feel  restricted having to dress in a conservative manner, and not able to wear bikinis on the beaches.

So different places for different people..

I think Riyadh is boring but lots of business to do here..  people from everywhere live here.. its people are known to be kinda arrogant... ( im from Riyadh btw )

Khubar is nice.. people are more educated...and organized..

and Jeddah is laid back.... not formal at all.... people do lots of business there.... people from all over the world live there, some stayed and are now Saudis... so theres different ethnicities there... its Saudis melting pot I guess... with people of Egyptian, Syrian, Moroccan, Pakistani, Indonesian, and African origins.

Its the least conservative city in Saudi. People are known to be liberal there.

What I dislike about Saudi is the beaurucracy ( and problems that stem from it ) which can get really bad.

So theres no black and white answer, or good or bad... it just depends on what you like and what city is being talked about.... Alabama is nothing like San Diego and SD is nothing like NYC.

As far as villages go , thats where many of the uneducated are, scattered over large areas that I, a Saudi, wouldnt live in.

    So yeah it depends..

  10. well im an american-saudi.. I frankly like it here.. some good valid points of view though from the above people..

Life anywhere on earth is what you make of it..

some say Saudi is boring.. Well im borrowing a phrase from Dr.Phil here.. "bored people are boring themselves"... If you are bored, then somethings wrong with your sense of life and adventure.. You can have the most absolute fun in life and in SaudiArabia and keep it in a good moral atmosphere.. Fun isnt all about fornication, drugs, bars, dating, etc...

Sure the government has its downfalls.. doesnt all countries?.. But for the most part.. I love the generosity of the citizens here. the vast different groups of people who have come here, the different melting pot of cultures.. The low crime . the general good moral fiber of the community.. Its a place I can proudly raise my children in...

  11. Fine for married person who loves his wife and his wife happen to love home..If you are single..I would say it is not so good place for singles..They have nothing to entertain with except play  sports
