Are we in this country really supposd to embrace this sort of culture?

Why do we sell them weapons?

What have they ever given us? (They even sell us oil through a monopoly)

  1. I can't see how it harms us - I wish they'd stop people walking dogs in this country and then I wouldn't have to watch out for dog sh*t everywhere.

    Live and let live!

  2. you bet ye.they are mad.

  3. Yes, it had. And the rest of the world should-but is unlikely to-cut off all ties with such an absolute fanatic dictatorship.

  4. Yes.  They seem like they're in a never ending struggle to out-backwards themselves.  Saudi Arabia was one of only 3 countries to recognise the Taliban, the most backwards and brutal regime on the planet.  The other two being Pakistan and the UAE.

And just when you thought it couldn't get more 'village', Iran's supreme leader goes on national TV to say it's haram to mastubate during ramadan, the religeous holiday when muslims fast.  If that's true, somebody needs to tell him he's doing it wrong (slurrrp).

    Backwards.

  5. None of them are trustworthy. NONE.

  6. They'll be over run with RATS soon .

They are totally insane the lot of them.

  7. Nothing about this complicated, insane, religion surprises me.

If i lived to be one hundred i would never understand it. No wonder most of them are totally off their rockers. x*x

  8. I agree also what is the point of banning women from driving if we can't then get sh*t faced on alcohol?!

  9. Okay, this is irritating, this is the 4th time I am answering a question about this issue.

    First, I am a Saudi:

I won't take this news seriously

it is just a statement that was made by one person, head of relegious police. It does not represent Saudi Arabia, its Government, Its people or the reality in the market.

That person made this statement to ban teenage from using dogs to harrase girls (kind of trendy teenage games)

Well, he got wrong solution for an issue. Yes, he was narrow minded. But it is one person opinion that made it to the news.

I can assure you that you can get cat and dog from any pet store legally any time.

There is only one clear thing that is banned for sure here, that is alcohol other than that, it is a mess.

there is no coordination or communication between customs, ministry of commerce, chamber of commerce, police, relegious police, ....etc

you will find big lists of banned things from one side, and the other side has no clue about it, and in most cases, they are sold normally in the market. None of these lists were made based on real studied decisions.

There are sattelite receivers that can decode any channel (even porno ones) and they are sold absolutely normal in all stores. There were so many news that they were banned and the store will be closed. However, you can just be one from anywhere for 200 dollars.

nowadays, any awkward statement by a person, will take a highway to the headlines because of all the media focus on saudi arabia.

And you got many incorrect assumptions in your question:

    1. You are not embracing any of our culture. In contrary, US media is giving many lies and twisted facts in our culture. As a Saudi it harmed me a lot when I travel anywhere.

In reality, US is trying to impsoe its culture on every country without any consideration. Just like imposing democracy on Iraq (the US way).

    2. Why do you sell us weapons? Do you think these oil countries decide to buy weapons and use them? These many billion of dollars contracts are imposed on them to create job opportunities in the US.

    3. What Saudi gave US? Stability of oil prices where US is destroying the market. Banning Iran from developing its oil facilities and creating every type of mess in Iraq. Then, Saudi is the one that is increasing its production dramatically to stable oil prices, or at least to not let it reach the crisis level.

    4. Monopoly? Incorrect. If Iran and Iraq got normal facilities, the world would have more diversified market. And by the way, if you think Saudi is that bad, then stop buying oil from them. They will be the happiest people on planet for that.

And by the way, in Islam it is totally alright to pet dogs or cats.

We even believe a woman was not forgiven coz she used to turture a cat, and a very sinful woman went to heaven coz she saved a dog life. We appreciate animal and plants.

  10. To stop them making passes at women?!

If these men are intent on cheating, they'll still "disturb" families by cheating anyway.

Its rather pathetic that they take away certain freedoms to address such an issue.

  11. Owning pets has NOT been outlawed, it is the walking of them in public that has been. READ THE ARTICLE PROPERLY.

  12. Ridiculous culture, ban loving cats and dogs but allow terrorists to strap explosives to children.....thank F**** I dont live there!!

Mind you alot of their barmy culture is coming to our shores, we have to fight it!!

  13. there's many odd customs in many religions, its wrong however to use religious belief to control people in that way...can you imagine if britain was run by christian fundamentalist...what would be done to all the unmarried couples, and single parent?...the g**s?....you can't blame a nation of people because of how the government run their country...the world is going crazy but i wouldn't blame all muslims...its like blaming all catholics for the IRA.....i personally know many muslims though i am christian myself, the three major religions are intertwined in their writings and there is much to be learnt from them all....they all agree that there is one god...they just chose to worship him differently....the sad thing about religion is that it creates powerful people and power is a dangerous thing!!!

  14. i think it is crazy about banning cats and dogs what did they do they do?

  15. Daft. There are other types of pets so they will just have those to make passes! (I wonder how that is considered making a pass!!!

Mind u sometimes these pieces that are written in the papers usually have more of an explanation than is given.

These pieces usually catch the eye, but they dont really go into the detail. (is this drip drip propaganda!)

  16. why the **** do you care? it seems like you're a little too obessed with Islam. get the **** off jew.

  17. they can own them but they cannot walk them in public just in case its a form of enticement - nutters

  18. This is more of a cultural issue than a religious one.

No, we don't have to embrace it in the UK.

The sale of weapons is irrelevant here.

They were supportive in the two Gulf Wars. The trade in oil is open from wherever we want to buy it.

  19. I find it very strange that they ban dogs and cats really, are they not creature Allah Created in the Seven days. Why not ban race horses I ask that may well be because it will hit the very rich Muslims who own thousands of race horses.

Could it be an effort to take away a little bit of pleasure from the poor people in Saudi Arabia, could it be to hit the dog and cat loving immigrants from the other parts of the Arabian peninsula such as Yemen who they hate with such a passion the despotic slave drivers that they are in reality.

  20. May be they stumbled upon some utterance of some one close to the Prophet agaisnt these pets. If these pets could be used to kill some of the enemies of their religion, may be they are welcome.
