  1. That's true the guy up there said the truth, you wont believe how many Saudis are caught drink driving in the U.S.A

  2. You won't believe how many Saudis end up on the news for driving drunk into a crowd of people.

  3. to be honest.. only 2.. and they were funny enough about 30 mintutes apart...

When me and my husband were cross country travelling from California to Oklahoma, I was driving at the time. and we were just bored of the whole long drive on the way back.. So we tried to "hurry things up" you know on the highway.. I got caught by a speed trap in Arizona.. they cop gave me a ticket and was fairly nice.. but when i left and got on the road..we decided.. ok. no more cops.. floor it... hahaha! little did I know Arizona is good for hiding cops in the trees along the freeway.. jsut 30min later.. i got caught again.. and the next cop was laughing at me.. (I was too also).. he was nice also, but teased me a bit.. I got 2 tickets that day.. but luckily i just mailed in the fee when i returned to home and that was it.. no other classes or anything...

  4. dealing with the Saudi police and culture, Saudi drivers developed many techniques to get away with traffic violations, when being caught by a policeman. Especially very understanding policemen like the U.S. police, before 9/11.

i heard lots of stories from Saudi friends, how they make up funny excuses to trick the U.S. policeman, and avoid getting a ticket.

  5. And I guess from your questions you are generalizing that Saudis are Bad drivers, doesn't care for rules and regulations about driving, and accumulated many tickets. Great.

  6. not a lot

in 2 and half years i got 3 tickets, but only one of them is serious that is speeding. the other two were for not renewing the car license on time.

i was caught on speeding on 85 mile on a 55 mile limit

    so it was 4 points

    it was funny

it was days off and was returning home 3 am in a highway when i realized .. oppps .. i got caught

the cop asked me "where did you come from?"

    i replied "from saudi arabia"

he said "mmmm u drove all the way from saudi arabia??"

i was "aaah, no i drove from University Blvd"

he asked "how many beers did you drink?"

    i said "i never drink"

he was "i can smell you drinking"

    " no way"

"i will do the test, if you fail i will arrest you"

    i was "okay"

he took me out and started doing the test ..

i didn't understand his instructions well .. so i was about to fail lol ..

he moved a pen right and left and asked me to follow it, so i moved my head right and left .. he was "no no no no, follow it with your eyes only"

    but gladly i passed : )

  7. LOL...My husband got a LOT of tickets.  I am actually surprised he didn't get his license taken away!  And, he didn't know at first that he had to pay them because in KSA you don't have to pay the tickets until you want to leave the country or you need something from the gov't.  I had to tell him that he better pay the tickets right away, or they can arrest him next time he got pulled over.  I finally convinced him to start driving more safely.  I was seriously scared when I rode with him for a long time.  Now, alhamdulilah he's much safer when driving, even in KSA.  Now, I'm just scared of all the people driving around us.
