Saunier duval F30E what is your views

Question

has anyone got the saunier duval f30e combi boiler in there home and do they find it any good.

we are working from a budget and this is the cheapest we have been offered has anyone had any problems with the above make?

Saunier Duval have in the last 8 years have come on leaps and bounds from their earlier days, even the earlier models were very much misunderstood. But basical since they are part of the same group as  valliant and glow worm and probably have the largest R & D department of boiler manufacturers in europe. Their boilers are much the same as anyone else, boilers are just like cars someone could swear by ford another hates them :) . Combi's by their nature are not that reliable and have a short life span compared with boilers of old, also just remember the boiler is only a part of a full system. A poorly designed/installed/commissioned system can result in boiler breakdowns.

From a breakdown engineers point of view i wouldn't recommend saunier duval as a manufacturer.If you are working to a small budget then your choice will be limited.Alpha boilers have a contract combi called the he33 which PTS is selling at around £550 inc VAT in their magic boiler scheme.The timer and the flue are included in this price.

When a combi is working fine then one is as good as another,but when they breakdown some are a real pain in the rear.SD have gave me some grief over the years so i avoid them like the plague.I have been fitting Alpha's for the last 12 years and have had very little come backs.

Parts for boilers these days are extortionate,do your research and you will be fine.

Saunier Duval have been making combis forever, so they know what they are up to. I know you are on a budget but buy the largest one you can afford as you will get a better hot water flow, important at bath time. The central heating delivery is modulated so as long as it is powerful enough to heat the house it will turn down automatically as needed.
