Hope u have heard about bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, and i am sure u r cursing the terrorrists and blaming the govt for security lapse. But guys as we know "govt is for the people,BY THE PEOPLE and to the people" so we all r a part and parcel of or democratic govt, and if u r blaming the govt u r blaming urself.

now u may ask me "what can v alone do?" u can give it a thought, i am sure u can come out wid great ideas, every problem has a solution, and lets together fight this problem of the world.

send ur ideas through r answers, and i will make sure that it reaches the govt.

Eyes and ears on the ground that observe things. Have you and your friends form a local unarmed police support group that has the support of the local police. If you can establish a citizens watch where local people who know everyone who lives an works locally report strangers and people acting out of character then you begin to get a grip on the problem.

For example: Shop keeper X sees a stranger moving through the neighborhood and reports it to Citizens on Watch. They now have a good description, and time. Cafe owner A observes him later in the week looking over neighborhood and reports to Citizens Watch. Then Citizens Watch person B sees same stranger looking agitated and trying to enter crowded school yard and calls police. Police catch Stranger who turned out to be pervert out to steal child or bomber out to kill lots of children.

There are other ways but people who care and accept responsibility for their society is the method to fight terrorism.

There are two methods of fighting an enemy. First is offencive and second defencive. Since the first one is difficult unless you know who the terrorists are, the second one i.e defensive method is to be adopted. Be aware and report anything that looks suspicious. The law enforcement agencies should also co-operate in this respect and try not to scare the public away from going to them reporting such things. People fear the police as many have experienced that if you go for something to report, they interrogate you first as a suspect. This attitude should change. If the police becomes user friendly, many would not shy away from reporting suspicious activities in their neighbourhood or anyone moving around suspiciously. Of course, a very large percentage of such suspicions may prove to be baseless but police - public interaction can definitely improve intelligence services. Another thing the government can do is to give a certain amount of freedom to the media who are capable to dig up many things.
