Save itunes from system recovery due to virus!?

Today I found out we will be rebooting our Windows Visa PC back to system defaults via system recovery due to some back door tojan we got. Since we are going back to system default I will be losing my itunes once again. Now this would be all fine and dandy but my ipod is broken and can't use that to restore the songs back to itunes after we reboot the computer. Is there any way for me to save my itunes library short of saving all the songs on to cd's. My friend said during systemy recovery you can choose to save certain programs or documents to keep and not erase. Is this possible.

PLEASE HELP =[

  1. I think system defaults would delete everything (since it restores FACTORY settings) so IMO a great but expensive solution would be using flash drive/a portable Hard Drive to save the songs, and then putting them back on the computer.
