Saveiro aiming to accomplish victory at Catterick, on 28th February, 2012.
Catterick is hosting the Book Tickets On-Line At Catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap Chase is scheduled to take place on 28th February, 2012. The race will cover a distance of 2 miles and award the purse of £3, 899 to the first three runners who cross
the finish line.
The 8 runners competing in this race are:
Saveiro,
Blacktoft,
Storm Surge,
Gentleman Jeff,
Zazamix,
Ouest Éclair,
Just Maddie, and
Ice Image.
Saveiro, the 8-year-old gelding, is the son of Raintrap, out of Branceilles. He secured a third place finish in the Get Your Cheltenham Bets On @Bluesq.com “Jumpers’ Bumper” National Hunt Flat Race, which was held at Southwell, on 12th
February, 2012.
He was a prominent runner in that race but soon lost touch with Rory Boy and Tornado Bob, who were leading the race.
He secured a victory in Party In The Paddock – 7th June Handicap Chase, which took place on 21st February, 2012, at Wetherby.
He finished the race easily as he crossed the wire before Zazamix by a distance of 8 lengths.
Zazamix will be going up against Saveiro again in this race. Trained by Andrew Cook, the 7-year-old gelding could have performed better. He finished in 4th place, in the GDBS Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Chase, which took place on
1st February, 2012, at Newcastle.
Gentleman Jeff, son of Mr. Greeley, out of Wooing, finished as a runner-up in the W.L. And Hector Christie Memorial Trophy Novices’ Handicap Chase, on 12th January, 2012, at Catterick. He was defeated by Next To Nowhere by a neck.
Blacktoft, son of Theatrical and Black Truffle, finished in 5th place in his previous race. The 9-year-old gelding trained by Evan Williams, weakened before the end of the race and tailed off, in the Happy New Year Claiming Hurdle,
which took place on 9th January, 2012, at Taunton.
Just Maddie, Ice Image, Ouest Éclair and Storm Surge are not in the best shape and form. All of them were pulled-up from their last race because they acquired injuries.
Based on the bets, it looks like Saveiro will take the lead in this race. He is gaining popularity among the punters and the highest number of bets in this race. Speculators are confident about his performance as long as he does not commit jumping errors,
which have proved to be catastrophic and cost him races.
The second place is likely to be acquired by Zazamix unless he brings his best game forward.
The third place is likely to be acquired by Gentleman Jeff.
