Saving a movie file in sony vegas pro 8?

Question

i have sony vegas pro 8, and i'm trying to save it as a .wmv or a .avi but after i click render as and save it i play the video and theres nothing but a black screen and sound.

help ?

your VFW codecs(the codecs that help you with encoding) can have problem. i suggest you K-lite codec pack (download from free-codecs.com or use Google to find it). installing this free codec box can solve both VFW and direct show codec problems.

please check out far left side of your video tracks. make sure you have not activated mute button. it can disable video playback. (if you have done this your video file gets too small in size). this icon is white and round.
