Question:

Saving electricity?

I'm running a 5000 Watt Jacuzzi outta my backyard and I was wondering if theres anyway I can save electricity with this. I heard theres some kinda transformer I can buy which will be located between my circuit and the jacuzzi power wire which saves me 50% of power or so.

I'm not too much of an expert in this. I'd also like to know if my wall outlet could handle such ammount of Watts or do I need to buy something for this.

  1. A wall outlet is good for a maximum of 1650 watts maximum.  I expect  your jacuzzi runs on 220 volts.  A 220 volt outlet, like the one for a range or a dryer can handle 5000 watts okay.

There is not a way to convert the power from the house and save money, because it takes a certain amount of watts to warm the Jacuzzi.  The only way to save would be to let it cool when not in use, that could be done with a control timer.
