Saving ideas or tips?

My soon-to-be fiance and I are in need of some amazing saving tips.

Hes the only one working as I am still studying and he earns about £400 monthly. That will soon increase as he has been given a rise. However, I plan to base it on £400.

Because he is paying for his own expenses(other than rent) he spends about £200 a month and is saving £200. Any ideas on how to save a bit better? We plan to get engaged by Jan time if he has enough cash by then and to get married a yr later.

He has only been working for 2 months now so its all fresh and new, so we plan to start off on the right foot to ensure it goes well. We just need some tips or ideas to help us save better.

Spend 4 week where you write down every penny you both spend. Be honest with it. After the 4 weeks look at it ans see what can go.

Starbucks - take a flask

Buying lunch - make your own

Taxi - get the bus

This way you will know what you are spending on and take measure to downsize it.

Only saving money won't make your life better. Cause living fees are rising up, and with only 1 person income definitely won't make it. Better way is finding way to earn extra money while continuing your study.
