Are there any programs out there where I can save chess games I've played and look them up later for reference?

  1. not that i know of.

  2. There are a wide variety of products for saving games.  I have paper game scores dating back to the 60's, but today there are software packages that are a big help.  I use the Fritz-10 package which runs about $50.00, and for free you have stuff here:

  3. YES, of course there is.  You are looking for a chess database program.

Chess Base is the best and most popular, Chess Assistant is cheaper, and ok too...

These are expensive (over $200) and for serious players.
