I really want to buy a guitar. I've been trying to save up money to buy one, but it hasn't been going good. I'm trying to ghet around $250. Any tips on making money? BTW I'm a kid and can't work yet.

  1. All the c**p you own that you don't use. . .if you've got a 360 or PS3 with some games, sell some of the games you don't play.  Hmm, Lemonade Stand doesn't do so well anymore.  But find some things your parents would mind you trying to sell on Ebay, just make sure if its decently valuable you set a reserve so you don't get skrewed.

  2. Well it depends, what are some services you could provide to other people.

#1. If you know how to cut grass you could ask your neighbors if they would like you to cut it for them and charge like 5 dollars for a small lawn 10 dollars for a medium lawn and 15 dollars for a medium/large lawn. (You could also charge by the hour, you can change the prices to what you see fit, but I would advise you not to charge too much otherwise people will just say no and do it themselves.)

#2. Gardening (pulling weeds, raking grass, maybe planting plants, watering lawns/gardens)

#3. Painting (if anyone needs their fences/porches repainted)

    #4. Washing Cars

#5. Picking up Groceries from the store (*only works if you are willing to get on a bike or walk there and back with your neighbors stuff, but probably not a very good idea if you don't have a car, so maybe ignore this one lol*)

#6. Yard Sale (old clothes, toys, old bikes, play sets and relative junk lying around the house) (*make sure you don't sell anything without the permission from your parents first*)

#7. Maybe you could set up a lemonade stand (don't laugh this idea works) with cookies and other little snacks. Depending how hot it is that day people will buy the water/drinks you are selling, also mention to them that you are trying to save up for a guitar, it will make them more willing to buy from you because you are trying to work for money anyway you can rather than just asking your parents to buy it for you.

#8. Asking your parents for extra jobs around the house and with the extra jobs a slight raise in allowance.

#9. If your neighbors have dogs offer to take them on walks for them.

#10. Babysitting. Usually people now that its summer have their kids stuck at home and go to work, with you babysitting them it would be more fun because since your still pretty young (though not too young I imagine) you can still be pretty entertaining for the kids, unlike some adult babysitters. Also you could look after younger siblings/cousins/nieces and nephews close friends ect.

Also, do try to mention to the people that you are doing these services for that you are trying to reach a goal so you can buy something you want with money that you have tried to earn yourself. This makes you seem responsible, hard working, and reliable, it makes you look like you have strong values and would do a very good job for them. Also mention that this experience while you are young will be good to learn to add to your resume when you are older. This is very important and will not only show them that you are considering your future (very responsible and insightful) BUT it will be great to put on a resume for future jobs. And when you finished the job for them, kindly ask them if they could recommend or mention your handiwork services to other people they may know who would like them, then you will have more customers. :]

Always be polite and show up on time, and do your best.

Have Fun and I Hope I Helped.

    :]

  3. Great! I would do neighborhood chores such as going around and mowing elderly peoples lawns and raking leaves and the list goes on. But you could also do chores around the house like washing dishes, vacuuming, moping, cleaning, and anything to help your parents or guardian.
