Hey, I have a lot of savings bonds (E/EE) and I got letter in the mail from Treasury Direct telling me that some of the bonds are "retired"... what does this mean? I lost the original bonds but i have the serial numbers, I sent the serial numbers in to Treasury, but they sent me a letter saying their retired. What does this mean, i did not cash them in... PLEASE HELP :)

  1. Retired...someone cashed them in

  2. Go to Savingsbonds.com. There is a link there to get  lost or stolen bonds replaced.  If your bands have been stolen and cashed in, the Feds will investigate.
