My son and I came home late...7.p.m. and we saw in the night sky, lots of stars...all looking the same..Very far away,

unlike 'Mars' you sometime see.Which is large and bright.

Anyway...he said come look at this star!! its moving, and it was slowly moving here, there, but not way-out-there...Just moving around?

Anyone have an idea, 'what was going on'?...its a first for me in my 50;something yrs on this planet!

  1. it could a be a private plane or rescue helicopters can be very confuse cause they have special lights attached to them.

but if you live in Phoenix you just another person sawing a moving star, cuz in Phoenix its very common

  2. that was definatly  a sattelite !!!!!!

i was watching them last night , lots of them

  3. what you are describing sounds like a satellite

  4. What you probably saw was a satellite or perhaps the International Space Station.  It's a common sight in the sky around sunset or before daylight to see satellites.

    .

  5. If it was moving in a straight line, it was probably a satellite. If moving all over the place, run for the hills, it was an alien UFO.

  6. Yes, I have seen a lot, late 9pm to 10,  but I just can't identify all of them...

someone say that it is only a space ship or a satilite... but it is more different for their lights are not even blinking...

  7. Almost certainly a satellite if you watched it travel across the skys. meteor if you just saw it for a few seconds.

    Cool, eh?

  8. It was not a star. And really you have no idea how far it was.

It is impossible with the naked eye to judge vast distances.  I am sure it was far far away but not star distances. NO way.  Does not matter where you are from.

  9. Meteors are relatively common in summer, and sometimes come in interesting colors, or maybe it was an airplane..

  10. artificial satellite.
