I thought they dont come in the house in summer time.

I have had rat/mice poison in several places so how come this chap is still in thoe house.I change the posion(the small geen bits) every two months.

What is the best thing to get rid of them.

  1. Get a cat.

  2. I've always believed mouse traps are the best way to get rid of vermin. It's as if they get used to the pesticide and then either keep away from eat, or have built an immunity against it and nothing happens. Worse is when they die behind a closet and you don't know it until the smell reaches your nose... ugh. Use meat or nuts on the traps, not cheese.

    Good luck!

  3. You need to kill the rodents otherwise they will keep on returning to your house.

Sometimes rodent poison doesn't work as the animals build up an immunity to it so i would suggest your best bet would be to buy some mouse traps and bait them with something sticky like peanut butter because that way the mouse cannot just grab it and run.

  4. do not use sticky traps, they are cruel and the animal will die slowly. killing any animal, even if its a mouse or a rat is pure evil. set up some humane traps with some food in, and when theyve been caught go and release them somewhere. if they look really small, then they are probably mice

  5. Hi

The best way to get rid of rodents is to use an ultrasonic pest controller. They really do work with no effort from you.Try one like this one.

  6. I have no idea, it is something that I have been trying to figure out for a really long time. I don't know how to get rid of them either. I have tried mouse and rat traps, rat poison and those little red sticks.

  7. i'd try getting humane traps and if that doesn't work then call around and see what exterminators are near you, what they cost, etc. or even if they'd have other info without you actually hiring them on to get rid of the rodent. do you have neighbors with the same problem? it might be a stray few from somewhere else nearby looking for another place in infest.

and if you have rat poison around don't get any other animals =) as it would surely poison them if they did, and most likely would, get into it.

but yeah, maybe try switching brands, then human traps, then a professional if it comes to it. good luck!

  8. Pop down to your local B & Q and pick up a couple of their plug-in rodent repellant devices. They're about £15.00 each and, when plugged in, let off a high pitched tone ( inaudible to humans). More humane , and less messy and fiddly than putting poison down. Also, if you know their point of entry, block this with a bunch of wire wool............they won't try to get through this stuff.

  9. use a trip trap catches it live then release, tells you distance on trap.

Plus it wont end up dying a horrible death under the floor boards.

Which in the summer time will end up being covered in maggots which turn into bluebottles ha, so it would be in your best interests to catch it live.

Rodents are opportunists if you have any crumbs ,hole in the Wall they will check it out :-)

  10. Since the poison isn't working you may want to use a trap but you may have an infestation that is now immune to the poison. Try changing brands and if this doesn't work them you need to call someone in to get rid of them.

  11. get mouse traps and sticky paper.......and clean up your mess so they can't live off of that
