Question:

Saw a spider in my home?

It was at the most the size of a dime, its body was half red and half white, no other colors. Its legs were short(er) and thick(er) like a hunting spider. It was in the bathroom crawling along the floor.

I have never seen a spider that looked like a pill being 2 colors. Its abdomen split the colors in half.. think of how a capsule would look with 2 different colors, thats how the spider was.. although the legs were all white. So.. anyone have any ideas what it would be?

  1. First thought is a Woodlouse Hunter, Dysdera crocata.

They have adapted to hunting woodlice, also called rollie pollies or pillbugs.  These spiders have long and strong fangs to penetrate the armor of woodlice.  I caught one of these two days ago walking across my living room and released it into the wood pile.
