Saw a wierd spider with an ALL red butt, not a black widow, Any ideas?

I was at work and saw a spider which was shiny black and pointy legs. it was about the size of a penny. the tips of the two front legs were yellow and the whole entire butt was red with small black dots, but instead of the butt laying flat in line with the body, it was pointing straight up in the air....wierd!! if you could shine some light on this, let me know

It sounds like it could be a Red Back spider. They have black heads and legs with a Red butt and don't grow very big, as you described. However I'm not sure about the spots on the butt.
