Saw bright green snakes with dark bands at the lake while i was fishing. Some in water some not. name them

I was fishing and i picked up my strainer.. Needless to say there was i a snake eating my fish. I live in the North Texas area.

I live in DFW and there are no snakes around that I know of that match that description, and especially no fish eating snakes. Could they have been brown and black? They would probably either be blotched water snakes or diamondback water snakes. Also a chance of being western cottonmouths, but those are dark and not even close to green. As for keeping the snakes away, you can try switching to a bucket or cooler for your fish. You can buy a cheap battery powered aerator to keep them alive at most sporting goods stores.

Hey sweetie.....can't say I have heard of a bright green one but it could be a Diamond Backed Water Snake. Go to this website and see if any look like that one.
