Saw dust for snake?

A friend of mine got one of those big boxes of saw dust at petco but his pet died and he can't use it so he asked that if i wanted it for my corn snake then i could have it. its just a big box of saw dust it looks like this type of saw dust

does anyone know if this is ok for a snake?

  5. Are the shaving made from pine? That is really dangerous to reptiles, especially snakes. Do not use it! I have a corn snake and I use Zoo Med's Repti Bark. It is relativley inexpensive, large enough for the snake not to acidentally swallow the chips, and it is natural looking. Here's a pic of a bag of it below. Hope this helps!

  6. NO! Never use sawdust for a snake! In fact, newspaper is perfectly fine if you are running on a tight budget. Wood chippings are also good.

  7. dont use for your snake also it creates a ton of dust.
