  1. Probably the International Space Station. Go to this website http://www.heavens-above.com/ and enter your location. Select 'ISS' then 'Prev.' to see the last few days' passes of ISS.

  2. dude ITs a FLIPPING AILIEN LMAO until people have proof just forget it.

  3. Sounds very much like what the ISS looks like as seen from Earth.

  4. Ya probably saw the space station...or another satellite.....those are most prominant within the first hour after sundown...or an hour before sunrise.

BTW>......what time of night was this??....just curious.

  5. If it blinked, it was indeed a plane.  If it didn't, it was likely a satellite.  Shooting stars move across the sky very fast.

Here's how to learn the deal.  Contact your local astronomy clubs and find out who is doing a public showing for the upcoming Perseid Meteor Shower.  The shower peeks on the 12th of August, which is a Tuesday.  But they might do a Sunday night, or even Saturday night event.  There will still be Perseids, just not as many.  They can tell you which streaks are Perseids and which are others.  There may be various satellites predicted, and you'd get a feel for what they like.  With a little experience, your previous observations should be obvious.

No one has a Perseid Party?  Most clubs have a public open house event every month.
