Sawpit Sensation favourite to win Magners Standard Trophy Final
For the high-profile final showdown of Magners Standard Trophy, Sawpit Sensation stands as the hot favourite runner on Nottingham's card. The Open Race over 500m is scheduled to start at 21:22 (GMT), on Monday night, April 2.
For a huge prize money worth £400, Sawpit Sensation will compete against:
Bakari,
Cavecourt Derry,
Rith Agus Rumble,
Head Iton Eoin, and
Newmarket Flyway.
Since making his debut in August 2011, the D. Hunt-trained black dog has been performing consistently and winning with regular intervals.
The maverick hound registered a marvellous hat-trick by winning three big races in a row, from November 28, 2011, to January 9, 2012.
The dashing dog moved forward to bag a couple of consecutive triumphs in January and February as well.
In the month of March, the young sprinter participated in five races, winning two and finishing as a runner-up in three.
Thus, the son of Head Bound out of No Joke Sherry possesses an excellent track record.
Interesting to note is the fact that Sawpit Sensation has never finished last, not even a single time in his career.
The hot favourite hound is supposed to show a sensational and splendid run in the final clash and browbeat his rivals confidently to make his way towards victory.
His chances to thrive are as high as 96 percent.
However, Sawpit Sensation is not going to win so easily and comfortably as two of his rivals, Newmarket Flyway and Bakari have the potential to give him a tough time in the race.
Newmarket Flyway earned two runner-up ranks in January 2012.
R. Gray’s black dog moved forward to bag a couple of consecutive victories during the month of February, and again finished first in his last outing on March 26.
On the other hand, Bakari has perked up his confidence to a great extent by winning a race each, in the first three months of the calendar year.
The trainee of L. Corrigan finished second in his last start on March 26.
Thus, it is anticipated that there will be a rip-roaring clash for the ace title of the Trophy.
