Ello.

I have played the alto saxophone for 3 years. I am thinking about switching to soprano sax. Are the fingerings the same?

  2. yes!

  3. Fingerings on all saxes are the same but the pitches on Alto and soprano are different. Alto is an Eb instrument and Soprano a Bb instrument I.E. If you play a "C" on alto you must play an "F" on Soprano. You might have to relearn whatever tunes you know from memory in a different key. Know that the soprano can get annoying to the listener after awhile and that  it is not popular in horn sections, so you would be limiting yourself in terms of musical experiences. Can you afford to keep both horns?
