My mother in law has always called me little one in Spanish. I keep telling her I'm going to find out what old woman means in Spanish so I can call her that :) I found (at dictionary.com) Senora Mayor but she says that they are saying it "nice". So...I'm looking for some slang Mexican for old woman...can you help? PS - I know a lot of cuss words so don't have me calling her a *itch or something haha!

  1. "Vieja" in Mexican slang means "woman" in general. They say "mi vieja" meaning "my woman"; of course, the real meaning of vieja is "old woman". Viejita or viejecita is a nicer way to refer to old women. Anciana is another term for old woman. In Central America they may call an old woman: "vejestorio" and that's not a term of endearment.

    Vejestorio=Old bag

  2. Hm...You want to call her "mi viejita/viejesita" or just, "viejita/viejesita". They both have endearment connotations, so I doubt they will sound rude to her. It depends.

    Cheers.

  3. Veijita is the term your looking for (it's an enderaring term.) It usually goes with my... "mi viejita".  It's like saying my oldie, and it's very sweet.

  4. Doña (do- like in donuts, ña - sounds like "gna") is the most respectable word to use for an old lady.

  5. vieja means old and mujer means woman
