I just read that the Penguins are looking to trade Evgeni Malkin to LA for the second pick on Friday. Please tell me this isn't true.

  1. ahh i dont think so.. even as a caps fan, anyone would know u guys would have been screwed w/out him when crosby got hurt

  2. It's rumor season and anything is game. I think the Pens would be insane to try to move him (unless the Flyers can get him) no matter what anyone says.

Besides, I doubt that Hextall and Lombardi will want to saddle the Kings with a big contract as they are rebuilding, especially in a draft year where they hold a lot of picks that they can trade for other picks and/or serviceable players that can give them depth.

  3. That's the rumour.

  4. Sigh..

If this is true: when will LA realize that they need help defensively.

I also read in the Calgary Sun, that Malkin doesn't want "Crosby or Ovechkin" type of money. He also said he want's to say in Pittsburgh . So I think, this is another crazy rumor.

  5. We're All Not Sure.. Anything Could Happen.. Evgeni Malkin leaving the Penguins is a Possibility... We'll Have To Wait and See

I Really Don't Want Geno to leave Pittsburgh... Who's With Me?!?

  6. OK... We don't need a draft pick that bad! I can't see how we can choose somebody who isn't in the NHL yet for somebody who has proven to us he is a key guy to our organzation(Draft Pick). Malkin was in 2nd place for the Hart trophy.. should of won it too.

Malkin needs to stay with Pittsburgh, how can they choose Hossa over him? 7 years younger than Hossa. Hossa is great, but Malkin is just a young stud. Him, Crosby, Staal, Hossa, and Fleury is our future... better keep it that way.

  7. Well I'm sure the only way LA does it is if they sign Malkin to a long term deal. They don't want to lose the number 2 pick and Malkin next year after his deal is up.

  8. A similar question was asked a little while ago and Im just going to copy and paste the same answer:

"Ive pretty much felt the same way about these rumours. At first I was thinking "theres no way this is going to happen. Where do people come up with this c**p". The more I hear about it and the more I think about, the more I could see it happening. IF, and thats a big if, they can sign Hossa to that seven year, $50 million contract, I could see them making a trade. I dont think they could really afford to keep Malkin and Hossa. Malkin will likely want more money than Hossa so if they decided to keep Malkin and let Hossa go, they would have Malkin, a higher payroll, and thats about it. On the other hand, if they keep Hossa and trade Malkin, they will still have their 2nd go to guy after Crosby, more cap space, plus the huge assets they aquire through the Malkin deal. I could easily understand why the Pens would choose this path.

Add: Really, what would you rather have:

    A) Malkin at $8-$9 million a year

    B) Hossa at $7 million a year plus two 1st round picks and 2 really good prospects, which is what Im guessing they could get in a Malking deal.."

I could really see this being a deal that could save the Pens from financial difficulties in the future but still keep them at an extremely competitive level for years to come.

  9. This is a rumor.

  10. Malkin Leave not a chance.... Hes still got one year  left on his contract and who would trade a player who got 106 points and finished second in scoring votes and was amazing in the playoffs?????

  11. Malkin still has a couple years on his contract. He won't be traded and especially for a 2nd round pick.

  12. Rumors, don't listen to 'em!

  13. crank up that weezer! we'll see its a rumor but who knows

  14. whoa, Geno to L.A.? that'd be a sight to see...who know's though, if it does happen then L.A. might be good again, but i doubt it will.

ok, now i really don't want Malkin to leave the Pens...if it means for the Kings getting rid of Cammalleri or the second overall pick...nope, i won't have it.

  15. DON'T DO WITH RUMORS! It is not going to happen!

  16. it might be a rumor but to get really proff i would search it up in internet to get real proff and ask other people like your friends, family or someone you can trust very well

  17. It ain't so!

  18. There's no way Malkin is going anywhere.

The only way you could trade a guy like Malkin, is to give him up for a guy equally as great as him.. & there isn't many like him that a team is willing to trade right now. You can't trade him for 2 or 3 players - because don't you think that would cost more in the long run?

  19. It's a rumor. Ignore it.

  20. If Wayne Gretzky can be traded, then ANYONE can be.
