  1. Yes, because the time and effort we put into training generally exceeds other sports. I train 8-10 sessions a week.

Waking up in the morning before the crack of dawn makes it hard, and to stay motivated in the afternoon sessions is harder.

  2. yes, very competitve sport because people get very into it and are always working to beat their time. This makes it hard because that makes you work to improve your time.

  3. Yes because we train way harder than other sports.  It moves all of your body at once. Most competive swimmers train minimum 4 hrs a day before and after school which is hard. I'd like to see a basketball player go to 2and a half hours of practice and then go to school all day and then go for sometimes another 2 hrs after school then come home and do homework and stuff.

  4. omg yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it doesnt get recognized as hard! it sucks

  5. YES!! pretty much what the first person said.

  6. It is definitely a hard sport!  I actually got into an arguement about this with a football player in high school.  We talked about what we did at practice day in and day out.  The football player continued to think that his sport was harder and kept trying to prove his point.  I looked at him and said, "Ok, think about what you do on the football field... now think about doing the same thing but holding your breath."  He shut up pretty quickly.  I think the hours that swimmers put in are amazing.  On top of the pool work, factor in weights, other dryland like tubing and abs - and even running.  We do it all... especially at early hours in the morning and then do the same thing again in the afternoon.  Happy laps!

  7. yes!its like the hardest sport out there

  8. YA!!! football players lacrosse basketball tennis soccer and MOST DEFINATLEY cheerleaders ain't got nothing on us!lol. we go home do homework go swimming for 3 hours and lift a bunch of weights and don't get enough credit! we even use our jaw muscles... we use every muscle our body! we eat like 2 dinners and are totally buff. i am stronger than all my guyfriends and so are all my swim friends. we also get our butts up at 3:00am to swim for 3 hours in the summer ans saturdays iof we're not in a meet. swimmers are also haooter than anyother athletes. lol we have hot bods!

  9. Yes. I am a competitive swimmer and i know that swimming is a sport which takes up a large amount of time. Sometimes I have to train 4hours a day. This means before school, so i am really tired for school, and after school, so i dont get much time for socialising or homework. So the time i do get spare, is mainly catching up with homework, so i never get chance to go out with friends. I have sacrificed many sleepovers, as i can't go to a sleepover if i have training the next morning. Swimming sets can sometimes be physically challenging aswell.

  10. yes, because there is a lot of training and time that goes into it.  You need to be committed.  It's definitely a hard sport because it pushes you quite a lot.
