Say you are 18 and dont have a guardian over 21 with you..?

can you not drink?(alcohol)? the said i have to sign some kind of waiver.. its what i read.. isnt it like 3miles away from shore and you can drink?

whats the deal with that?

  2. Actually some cruises allow your parents/guardians to sign a waiver that allows you to drink beer and wine once you are in international waters. My parents did it once for my sister, I believe it was on royal caribbean. Check with the cruise line though

In the middle of the ocean there is no drinking age.  However, the cruise lines can set their own rules on drinking.  Usually for cruises leaving from a US port the drinking age is 21.  For cruises leaving from countries that allow 18 year olds to drink, the cruise lines will usually lower the drinking age to 18.  

    Nonetheless, the captain is over the age of 21 and (s)he is not allowed to drink.  So you will not be the only one on the ship over the age of 18 who is sober.

  4. Once you get into international waters the drinking age technically doesn't apply. But the cruise line can set their own age limit, most of them that leave from the US are still 21 or 18.
