Sayaka Takahashi hammers Sharada Jasti in Women’s Singles qualifying round - 2011 Canada Open GP
Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi hammered India’s Sharada Jasti in the Women’s Singles qualifying round to book her place into the main round draw of the 2011 Yonex Canada Open GP, in Richmond DC, Canada, on Tuesday, July 19.
Takahashi proved that she has attained a certain level of skills as she played perfect badminton by manipulating all the loop poles of her opponent. She played a highest standard game against the Indian and finished-off the fight in straight-sets in just
31 minutes.
The Japanese was just incredible in her stroke placement, as she started to manipulate the weaker areas of her challenger. Her speed and accuracy put Jasti under pressure and the Indian could not tackle the situation effectively.
The score progressed with an incredible pace for the Japanese shuttler, who was playing a planned game against the shaky Indian. Jasti was struggling hard in picking the bird early as her movement was not that fast. At the interval in the first set, Takahashi
established a comfortable difference of 11-7.
After the break, the Japanese geared up her speed to put more pressure on the Indian and was successful in doing so, as the Indian became much defensive. Takahashi maintained a wonderful pace in the rest of the game and clinched it with a 21-13 difference,
by taking 18 minutes of court time.
The second game was easier as compared to the first one, where the Japanese controlled the game from the start. The Indian tried a little to play better in the initial points of the second set, but she soon gave up as her rival was far better in all aspects
of the game.
Until the interval, the Japanese managed a stunning lead of 11-4 against the nervous Indian. After the break, she remained on track and continued her impressive play in the whole second game. Takahashi’s remarkable game earned her victory in the second game
with a 21-8 margin, in just 13 minutes. The final result of the match was 21-13 and 21-8.
