Sayaka Takahashi slays Kim Hyo Min to claim Women’s Singles title at Scottish International 2012
Japan’s upcoming player Sayaka Takahashi showed a wonderful performance in the arena as she toppled Korea’s Kim Hyo Min in Women’s Singles final and earned her first title at Scottish International 2012 on Sunday, November 25, in Scotland.
The in-form Takahashi, who was the fifth seeded player in the Women’s Singles main draw, showed urgency in the final battle as she took just 25 minutes in the arena to stamp her mark over her lower ranked Korean rival.
Japanese shuttler was perfect in all departments of her game as she played with impressive speed and remained successful in winning the battle in straight games with a crushing margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Kim Hyo was shocked with the hostile treatment that she got from her Japanese challenger. She failed to match the pace of the game and lost the title match with a humiliating margin.
In the starting set, the amazing speed and attacking shots of the fifth seeded Takahashi favoured her to set up an aggressive lead on score board at the early stage.
The incredible deception and power in Takahashi’s strokes helped her to maintain her domination on court and she continued her superiority against her Korean opponent without facing any trouble.
Takahashi progressed with a superb speed in the starting half and she remained successful in creating a wonderful gap on score board until the one-minute interval.
After the break, the underdog Kim Hyo increased her speed but failed to change things around as she lost her focus in the arena and remained struggling hard.
In the meanwhile, the attacking play of Takahashi helped her to stay in complete control of rallies and she easily grabbed the opening set with crushing 21-6 score on the board.
In the second set, things remained the same as Takahashi continued her positive and aggressive run without facing even a meagre resistance from her Korean opponent and set up a huge lead until the break.
In the second half, the in-form Takahashi stayed on track without losing her focus and she bagged the second game with a one-sided score 21-8 score on the board.
Takahashi emerged as the crown winner in Scottish International as she ended up the final battle in straight sets with a lopsided margin of 21-6 and 21-8.
