Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi showed her remarkable skills in the Women’s Singles quarter-final contest when she toppled the higher ranked Tsz Ka Chan of Hong Kong at Malaysia Open GP Gold 2012 on Friday, May 4, at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The un-seeded Japanese played with precision and registered a comprehensive win over her higher ranked Hong Kong opponent who was seeded at number three in Women’s Singles world placements.
Takahashi was in full swing as she was impressive in the court while playing against her Hong Kong opponent.
The Japanese won this contest in a stunning fashion as she thrashed Tsz Ka in straight sets with a remarkable margin on the board.
On the other hand, Tsz Ka could not play dominating badminton in the whole championship and failed to overpower her opponent at any stage in the game.
In the first game, Takahashi played with precision and remained in full control. Until the one-minute interval, she was leading with a superb margin of 11-6.
After the break, Tsz Ka changed her strategy but failed to take advantage as her Japanese rival was perfect in her shot selection.
Takahashi was in impressive form in the court and remained successful in grabbing the opening set of this match with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
In the second game, Tsz Ka played changed badminton as she dominated the pace of rallies and also was positive in the execution of strokes.
In the meanwhile, Takahashi could not maintain her positive form in the opening half of second game and remained behind at 8-11 until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Takahashi geared up her speed at net and troubled her rival by executing superb net shots. She levelled the score by reaching at 13-13.
Both ladies continued playing at the same speed and reached at 14-14 when Takahashi took over the control from Tsz Ka and started to build lead.
The Japanese played with impressive speed and precision at this crucial stage in the second set and wrapped it with a 21-16 margin on the board.
Takahashi emerged as the winner in an impressive fashion against Tsz Ka with a comprehensive margin of 21-13 and 21-16.
