Saying what we mean?

When this country was founded we fought for freedom of speech.Many people fought and died to keep that and others freedoms.Does it bother anyone ele that PC is taking the place of a freedom we cherish?People lose jobs because they exercise their freedom of speech.If you don't like what anyone is saying just walk away or change the channel.

I couldn't agree more...just because some tend to make an as s of themselves shouldn't deter our rights to express our opinions..if we continue down this road of being careful what to say....we could very well end up not being able to criticize our own govt.

You'd have to be a complete nut-job to believe that! Freedom of speech is probably one of the lesser freedoms we have.  Television is censored, children (susprise! they're citizens too) aren't really allowed to speak their minds at school, and people are taken to court all the time for slander, despite 1974's Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc. case.  You can't really take any of the amendments at their "word" though, as many of them have exceptions.

We pretty much have little left of the first amendment unless we're talking about the paparazzi's freedom to stalk celebrities.

LIVE FREE OR DIE

A janitor at a local university nearly lost his job for reading a historical account of the KKK while he was taking a scheduled break at work. The  funny thing is, this man is also a student at the university and had checked the book out from the university's own LIBRARY!!!!!!
