Scab like cut on hamster nose and chin?

Question

i dropped my hamster by accident, while she was in her ball. i picked her right up and she seemed ok. she ate a berry i gave her and started running on her wheel and biting her bars. when i lifted her again just to do a quick examine, i noticed a scab like cut on her nose area and chin/mouth area. at first i thought it was a stain from berry but on examination noticed it was a cut. do you think i need to worry? she seems fine..will it heal?

same thing happened with my gerbil, i just put some neosporin on daily and it soon healed

i would dab it with an alcohol wipe just to clean it up a little. its only irritation from chewing on the bars. i would recommend either getting an aquarium for her or putting a taste on the bars. like something sour so she won't do it anymore. yes, it should heal if it is left alone.

what i would do is put a small amount of peroxide on it, but only a little and see how she reacts. Then if she is fine get a qtip and dab some on and it will help keep it clean. I don't think I would put any ointment on cause i would be scared she would eat it. If u have the money take her to the vet, if not she should be fine.

well if she seems okay then i think she should be alright. if it's already scabbing then her body is healing already. i would avoid fruits for a couple of days so juice doesnt get in it and infect it.

next time though make sure you dont hold her higher than 8 inches off the ground so if she jumps or you drop her it wont be fatal
