Fell and scraped my knee all up..The bottom part of my knee is all scabbed up and healing. The bigger cut near the top of my knee is about a quarter in size and has not formed a scab. Its been a week. The wound is yellow in colour and when a band aid is on with polysporin is somewhat watery. There is no real discharge. No redness either. Is this normal way of healing. Will a scab ever form over the area. What should i do. I clean it and put on a band aid with polysporin when going out or to bed.

  1. I would use Australian Bush Flower Essences Emergency Essence drops on the open wound and then not cover it, more likely to form a scam with not polysporin on it, I think it is keeping the wound open.

  2. If you have it covered all the time, it will most likely not scab due to the moist enviornment formed with the polysporin and bandage. If you leave the bandage off at night and let the scrape air out, a scab will form.

Also, since it's on the top of your knee, all the bending and moving it's doing is probably affecting the scab. It might start to scab over, but then you bend your knee and the scab breaks open again.

I wouldn't be concerned about it unless you start seeing discharge. Just wash it with soap and warm water and keep it uncovered at night and you should see a scab start to form by the next morning.
