The scale factor of two similar triangles is 5:2. The perimeter of the smaller triangle is 108inches. What is the perimeter of the larger triangle?

  1. The perimeter is the sum of the sides.

    Each side will be increased by a scale factor of 5:2, so the perimeter will be as well.

    Hence perimeter is 5*108/2 inches = 270 inches.
