Scallops after being left outside?

24 hours ago, my dad bought frozen scallops and left them outside in the grocery bag.(genius. no?) so are they still okay to cook and eat?

my guess would be no, if it was winter and below 35* maybe.. but when in doubt throw them out!

well it depends. Are they still cold? What is the temp in your house? If it's warm in your house I would say to throw them out. Smell them. do they smell bad?

If the temperature was hot today, no do not risk getting food poisoning from the scallops. If they were left in an air conditioned garage or cool area, they might be okay. I would throw them away and tell your dad that dinner is on him tonight!

NO they are not good - especially for 24 hours being left out.
