Scam or not?

I got an email from someone wishing to provide me employment...... I have been looking for something that I can do in a few hours per week or from home, so this is how they got my email address I'm sure. This man has contacted me a couple of times, I do have his name and so called company name (I googled both and didn't find anything), he said that his company loses money due to money transfer delays, so my job would be to receive customer payments, cash them either at my bank or at another cashing service, deduct my 8%, and then transfer them the remander through either western union or money gram. Does this sound like a scam to you? Has anyone else out there gotten dooped or know anyone who has had an experience like this?

  1. It's ABSOLUTELY A SCAM!!!!!!  I've read about these scams in the newspaper.  The people in your position often end up holding the bag and actually GOING TO JAIL.  Run don't walk away from this - NOW!

  2. This 'company' is fraudulent. Do not sign up with them nor provide them with personal info. ♥ ∞

  3. its a nigerian scam sweetie dont ever respond to those .look at the .com part of the emails .uk is all african scams to s***w you big time ..and also rob you of money ..dont do it..

  4. any "company" that's cheap enough to have an email from google, is definitely fake. I mean come on, if the guy had a professional email like for example idk "microsoft@microsoft.com" then ok that looks even more real but come on how professional does "@googlemail.com" sound lmao wow probably some african scam.

  5. Any company that deals with money transfers is not legit.

What will happen, you will cash the checks or whatever, and then you will forward him the money. Then in a few days, you will find out, those checks or whatever was stolen, or fake, and then you will be out the money.

For grins and giggles, can you post who the guy is? Or even post the e-mail.  More than likely this is a 419 scam. A scam from Nigeria or another African country.

  6. now who in the world is going to let you cash their money in your bank?? this is a classic scam you do this and i almost guarantee you will either be facing fraud charges or some serious securities violation if not both ,it sounds like someone wants you to cash fraudulent cheques for them and i have heard of many similar SCAMS like this ,run from this like there is no tomorrow o.k

  7. ANYONE who you only know through email or the internet is not to be trusted.  Just use this rule of thumb and you won't get scammed.

Any time you hear about anyone wanting to send you large checks for you to negotiate, you can bet your life they are counterfeit checks.  Your bank may allow you access to the money after a few days but they will be returned as fakes and you will owe the bank all the money you withdrew.  At the very least, you will wind up bankrupt - at the worst, you will wind up in jail for counterfeit checks.  Ignore those emails.  They send out millions a day, hoping for that one person who will fall for it.
