Scam or not what will happen?

i put something on craigslist and got an offer she wants me to pay her movers when they picked it up she sent me a check 2900 more then what i was asking i guess to pay the movers it wasnt in her name it was in some company's located in lapeer, mi and signed from someone else it was sent by ups with the person who signed the checks name and adress from amherst,ny i got the check and deposited it and now i have told friends and they said it is a scam if i pay the movers then i will be out of money because the check could still bounce but what if its not a scam how do i find out and will i get in trouble for depositing it

DEFINITELY A SCAM!!!

Do not do business with these people, you will lose a LOT of money!!!

Scam.  Friend of mine was selling a guitar on E-Bay and the same type of thing happened to him.  He deposited the check and is waiting to see if it clears.
