I decided to be good and download legally off the internet so I purchased "flickr" off the internet . That is legal music downloading software. However when I had completed my transaction nd pain my money I was sent a message to say the transaction was complete and all I had to do was click on the icon on my desktop and start using the software. Well of course it didn't work. Exactly the same happened when I purchased "limewire" a few hours later.I found out the next day that there were well known internet scams. I was gutted. I made the transaction and payed the money on 4thJune however when I recieved my bank statement yesterday the bank statement showed that I had not payed anything to these two compaines. I added up my previous account total with the amount my statement said I had spent and it was correct. My money had not gone to these scams. Did my bank dtop the transaction knowing it was fraudulant? I am with Halifax.

  1. If a company is a scam, you wont see the money taken out of your account right away.  Only the bigger companies have spent money to have computer processors to do that quickly.  My guess is, is that you will see that money taken out of your account within a few days.  If they are a smaller company, as alot of scammers are, they have to do it manually once they get your numbers sent to them on their system.  Your bank did not stop the transaction.  They have no way of knowing that it is a scam.
