  1. well you should always ask your doc these things. I have never heard of this but you know some women just cant have babies it does not mean your not ment to be a mother. think about serigate or adoption. just a thought. good luck to you and your babies

  2. NO WORRIES!! I'll show you pics to prove it. I went at 5 weeks and we saw the sac and then i went at 6 weeks and there was my little yolk sac and then we did one at 7 weeks and we saw the baby!! Dont worry about it. Everything is too small to see!

  3. In my experience yes this is normal.  I had an early scan and all they could see was the sac.  I then went back 10 days later and there was a tiny peanut with a heartbeat.  I was told that at that early stage it can vary dramatically as when I went for the scan I would have actually been 6 weeks but they told me I was only 5 weeks.  Then 10 days later I was told I was 6.2.  Then at my dating scan they put me forward again the 10 days .. lol.  I am now 18 weeks.

Try not to worry too much.  I have my fingers crossed for you for your scan.  Take it easy.  Sending you bucket loads of sticky baby dust.

  4. did they do a belly ultra sound or a vaginal one? with the vaginal one you are able to see everything a lot more clearer than a belly one. Next time you go in, ask the the vaginal one (it doesn't hurts and you will see everything a lot more clearly).

  5. Just ignore the ignorant answers--obviously some people don't understand what it's like to go through a loss and then be so very worried the next try.

It's normal to have the transvaginal scan up until 12 weeks.  I had my first at right about 6 weeks and all they could see is a sac as well.  They may do your hcg levels every couple days for a week to make sure they are rising.  That's what the did for me.  They will look for progress at your next scan.  Stay positive--I know it's hard since they can't give you any answers without more time going by, but keeping as upbeat and positive is the best thing you can do.

I too suffered a loss jus over 3 months before I got pregnant again.  They only saw the sac the first scan, but now I'm 18 w 3 d and all is going well so far.

  6. i had a internal scan at 5weeks too - as id perviously lost one last year and this time they was seeing if it was eptopic. i'm actually suprised they've seen something at 5weeks... maybe they was wrong?!

hope everythings ok, let me know - email me on here :) x

  7. The yolk sac is there to nurture the baby till the umbilical cord and placenta can do all that. You are only 5 weeks, so it may be difficult for them to see in enough detail.

Even if the yolk sack isn't there, your baby may still survive. It really depends on how well the growing placenta feeds it. Don't give up hope yet. :) Make sure you take it easy, and eat very healthy, and plenty of it, so that your body has lots of nutrients to share with your baby. You should ring your doctor, and ask them to explain what a lack of yolk may mean, and what you can do to increase chances for your baby.

Good luck with your pregnancy, I hope that it goes well for you this time. Fingers crossed.

  8. i can't believe how insensitive some people are being about this! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!

anyways....not being about to see everything this early on is normal. if you lost the baby you wouldn't be able to see the sac because there wouldn't be a sac.if you have a miscarriage all of that stuff comes out. i went thru the same thing. they couldn't see everything and the reason they couldn't tell me was because it was just a tech that did the scan. techs aren't able to tell you the details only ur doctor can incase something changes or is wrong. it is very frustrating but hang in there and things will be just fine. if you relax things will be fine

  9. I had a scan at 5 weeks and there was sac and yolk. I then had another at 6 weeks and a heartbeat was then visable.

Any chance your not as far along as you think?

    Good luck to you x

  10. why didn't you ask the Dr when you were there today? Or when you had teh scan done? I'm sure they probably did tell you when you were there what it all meant.

Y!A isn't going to give you a better answer than what your Dr said.

Sorry that sounds a lot meaner than I meant it to. I hope every thing goes well.

  11. 5 weeks is very early - too early to see anything in most cases. The scanning clinic near me won't even do early viability scans until 6-7 weeks because it's so hard to see anything until then.

Try not to worry. The scan next week will probably show more.

  12. I had the same thing happen to me and the end result was not good. I had to wait 2 weeks after the 1st scan for the second scan to confirm. In the end I had a miscarriage. I don't want to sound negative, but it is better if you are prepared for the worst. It is human nature to hang onto every strand of hope. I sincerely hope that all goes well for you and that you get good news when you go back next week.
