  1. I was asleep for my d&c.  It didn't hurt during the procedure.  Afterwords I felt some mild cramping.

  2. I was put to sleep for the procedure. You might have a little pain after wards, but they usually give you some medication for the pain. I didn't have much pain beyond the first day. I did bleed for two weeks after wards, which is normal so that may happen. I was scared at first when I was thinking of the procedure, but you will be fine. Just listen closely to all the instructions they give you and follow them as close as you can and really pain attention for the next week after wards for any warning signs of complications. All and all there isn't much pain involved and you will return to normal with the next few weeks with your cycle and such.

  3. What an unfortunate question to have to ask. I am very sorry for your loss.

Wednesday of last week I had my first (and with any luck only) D&C. I wouldn't say that it was painful I would more say that there was slight discomfort. For the amount of worrying that I went thru before hand I would say that it was all quite unnecissary.

How far along were you? That is a more defining factor I would think.

Please feel free to contact me and maybe we can chat a bit about it and help to calm you before the time comes.

    Take care.

  4. I had a D&C last year. And no, it was not painful. I experienced some light cramping after-wards but that was about it. Usually they put you to sleep for the procedure itself so obviously you can't feel anything. In case you do experience any serious pain, your doctor will probably prescribe you a painkiller like vicodin or hydrocodone.

  5. I've never had one, but I have seen one done before.  The girl was completely knocked out...so you wouldn't feel any pain during, but I'm not sure about afterwards.  Sorry I couldn't be more help!

  6. They can put you to sleep. No not painful, they give you really good medication before and after.

  7. not at all! your so drugged up by then anyway by the epidoral that you cant even move your legs even if u wanted to, and before the procedure they ask you if you want another drug, dont remember what it is, i said yes and completely passed out, didnt feel a thing..dont even fret it, it seems scary but its really fast and painless so dont worry!

  8. I had one 3 months ago. I was put out for it and woke with no pain at all. Physically I actually felt extremely good afterwards.

  9. I think its more emotional rather then painful!

  10. well it was for me don't want to scare you or anything but it's not too long you'll have bad cramps for like an hour after but then you'll be ok

it's more the emotional part that is rough..

good luck and stay strong ..

    ;)
