Scared about starting high school?

I start high school in one week and I am soooo scared! I don't know a lot of people that are going there and the ones I do know I'm not really friends with anymore. I'm scared that I'm going to get lost and feel so out of place and confused. And most of all I'm scared that I'm not going to make friends. Any tips or advice?

  1. When i started high school, i was scared too. I couldn't picture myself meeting new people.

But believe me - you make friends without even realizing it. You end up talking to people a lot in every class, and before you know it - your having a blast.

    Don't stress out!

  2. I am going to grade 9 and starting high school isn't that bad. You'll be more excited than worrying because you have lot's to learn and explore! Most high schools have wings. For example, A wing, B wing, C wing, D wing. For my school the first numbers represent what floor. For example, A1234. A=A wing, 1=first floor=234=room. Go find your classrooms before school starts. Go to school early! Its not hard. It took me about a week to get use to the schools and remember the classes. You are going to make some friends!! Every first class, your teacher will ask you to introduce yourself and the teacher will put you into group activities so you will socialize! 1st year is really fun!

  3. well i was scared 2 on my first day. But try to be nice to everyone. thats what i did and belive me it works to make friends. The first day there are teachers standing in the hall to find your classes. If u do get lost don't worry. Teachers are Very understanding if u are late the first day.

  4. High school sucks. There's no way to avoid that. The people who claim that high school is the best time of your life are full of ****, or they are still working at S****y fast food jobs wondering where the h**l their lives went. To make it slightly more bearable, look into post secondary option (going to college part time while still in high school) and vocational school (way easier than regular high school, and less immature drama from the other kids - just pick whatever program most interests you, it's not like you have to actually continue that career path after you graduate) to get away from your high school. I did both of those my last two years.

  5. Girl I know exactly how u feel I was so nervous the week b4 I started high school too even tho I tried to act like I wasn't and as soon as I got dropped off my heart started racing I went into the cafeteria and saw alllll my friends from the yr b4 and got so calm...just try to find a good friend of yours and try to help each other out I'm sure they'll be just as scared as you are so they'll have no problem hanging with u. But I promise its not as scary as it seem and make sure u study the school map if ur school is big so u won't get lost and just try to have fun...high school is just like a bigger version off jr high

  6. It really isn't as stressful as you think it will be! Most people on the first day are excited to be back to school and will be pleasent, you get lost just ask somewhere where you need to go. And when you are class you'll instantly find people that you 'mesh' with so you have someone to sit with at lunch  :D

Just relax, the more you hype it up into this big horrible stress- situation the worse it will be.

  7. You'll be totally fine girl :).  High School is so easy most of the time.  I only knew a couple people that went to my High School and to be honest, I was scared shitless.  I didn't want to start High School.  I got lost and I missed my bus the first day!  But everything turned out to be fine!  My school was huge too and had a lot of people in it so it didn't help me!  But just be nice to everyone and don't give yourself a bad reputation in the school and you'll be well liked :).  I mean, if someone is mean to you, just ignore them because that is immaturity for you in High Schools.

Just concentrate on your school work though because you do not want to start out badly!  I failed classes my first two years and had to struggle my 11th grade year but I passed every class that year because I want to graduate :).  Plus, it's not even worth it, you do your work and you won't be stressed at all about it all :).  This is from MY experience so please please please do your best!  It'll all be fine!
