  1. Nah, no need to be scared.  AP World History just means you'll have a few more dates/events to remember- but just remind yourself: how hard could it be?

And as for algebra 2, it's just an extension of what you already know.  Always remember that all math is nothing more than pure logic.  Math is easy because there's always a perfect, logical reason for doing everything you do.  If you're told you need to solve things a certain way, always ask yourself why.  Once you can answer that, the rest just comes naturally.  A good teacher should always be able to explain the "why" of math.  Sometimes, there are not so great teachers out there though, so if the teacher can't explain the why of something, always make a point of trying to figure it out yourself.  My trigonometry teacher despised me because I never spent much time memorizing all the formulas and whatnot- she guaranteed me that I would fail her final.  As it turns out, I got the best grade in the history of her class.  This is because I understood the "why"s well enough to make it up as I went along.  I memorized a few choice things here and there (I don't want to derive the quadratic formula every time I need it), but for the most part it really is that easy.  My point isn't that you shouldn't be memorizing anything- it's just that you can make it much easier on yourself if you always try to understand the reasons for doing the things they teach you.

Congratulations on taking these advanced classes.  You shouldn't feel scared, you should feel proud.  If you weren't capable of succeeding, you wouldn't be in them in the first place.

  2. World History shouldn't be so hard, as long as you keep up with the work... actually, i would think that the info is really interesting, because you get to learn about things that you wouldn't usually hear about, or deal about within our nation.

as for algebra 2- well, i'm not a big math person, so if you're like me, i would say, well, i wouldn't be too worked up about it now (because it's the summer- time to relax)... but if you are struggling with the subject, i would stay after school for extra help.

  3. i had algebra 2 and if you've always excelled in math then this class really shouldnt be a problem. but if you normally suck at math then you're going to need to work harder

  4. those are the classes i had last year :P

algebra 2 was more challenging for me because there was a lot of useless memorization of formulas that id forget the day after the test. plus math didn't always make complete sense to me, like knowing when to use those formulas and whatever. it wasn't exactly difficult though, maybe just harder than my other subjects because i lacked interest.

in my apwh class what my teacher did was give us charts and maps of the region we were studying for every chapter to fill out give us a couple of weeks and then test us after we turned our stuff in. idk how your teacher is going to do stuff, but the really big thing is how well you do on the ap exam in may. so i recommend getting like the princeton review book on world history to study for the exam so you can read about all the stuff you forgot at the beginning. plus in my class as long as you did all the work it made up for some peoples failing test grades. a lot of work, but not difficult. but dont take my word for it cos some people would beg to differ.

    good luck!
