  1. Did you get them out? If not, put food near them especially really smelly stuff like sardines. If you can get them in a carrier (use strong leather gloves) take them to the vet to get them checked out. You don't want to catch a disease from them. If they have a clean bill of health, here is some info on taming them.

    Things You’ll Need:

    Vari-kennels

    Cat Foods

    Litter Boxes

Step1Enclose the cat or kitten in a small space at first'a bathroom or bed-room works best.

Step2Turn out the light if the cat is terrified; this often has a calming effect.

Step3Put a bed, a litter box, food and water in the room. If the cat is very young (6 to 12 weeks), put her in a large carrier with a grated door and small windows.

Step4Spend at least 2 to 3 hours a day with the animal. Just sitting quietly in the same room will allow the cat to learn that you are not a threat.

Step5Gently compel the cat to let you touch her. Carefully wrap a blanket around her if you have to, hold her on your lap and pet her. Stroke her coat and touch her ears, face and neck as you talk to her in soothing tones. Even if the animal doesn't seem to be enjoying the attention, she is. Hold the cat by the scruff of the neck if she attempts to leave. (The mother cat will do this to carry or train a kitten'it doesn't hurt, and it actually relaxes the animal.)

Step6Present special treats such as chicken or tuna, and leave them if the cat will not eat from your hand.

Step7Gradually allow the cat to roam about in more rooms.

Step8If the cat tries to run away from you repeatedly, enclose her in a smaller space and start again.

  2. lure them out with a cat toy. don't preassure them, just dangle it and let them play. u have 2 b slow and patient, i have done it alot so i know. give them treats, like leve them the treats. and repeat. get closer and closer everytime. eventually they will like u. it will take a while. feed them give them water and take them 2 the vet!

  3. Fill a squirt bottle with water and spray them from one side, and have someone waiting on the other side...they hate to be squirted, we use it as a form of negative reinforcement to keep them from climbing up the curtains, and speaker boxes and to keep them from playing with the toilet water lol...

  4. should i retype what i said the first time?

    okay why not?

take some food, and place it out there.  walk away and dont look/pay attention. the cats will come eat when they think it's safe.

do that for a week or so, then put the food down, and stand 5-10 feet or so away, so the cats can see you but your far enough away that it's safe for them. ... over the next few days get closer. . . dont move much or just sit there and watch.

by a month or so you can be close enough to touch them, but dont reach for them, just sit there and let them walk around you. . . once they think it's safe they'll get closer and may rub against your leg.

move slow, dont try to pick em up right away, and give it time. . . do this and i'm sure you will not only be able to pet them, but they'll be your cats and trust you.

we did this for our momma kitty, it took 2 month, at the end of that time she walked in our basement.. looked around... and gave us a look like :this is my home now. she's been in our basement/garage for 6 months now, had her kittens, and all of them are so much people cats, they wont let you walk unless you pet them. . . so it can be done with out trapping.

NOW, if you choose to trap i wouldnt suggest it if you want to keep the cats, b/c they'll be scared in the cage, not trust you, and claw the poo outta you trying to get outta the cage. . . animals are wild, but if you work with them slowly and gain their trust, then you will have a better chance of being about to keep these cats as pets.

note: i live on a farm, and people drop off their cats on the side of the road/where ever and they find their way back to our house, we always keep food out for our cats and take in strays (even dogs we've taken in... but that was for friends, not random dogs we didnt know)

anyway, 13 cats (all but 4) are strays. . . that doesnt count the wild cats that are here.  good luck. it does take time.
